Sew Long Sewing Machine...

Well sister... you may come retrieve your sewing machine. But rest assure that I will have a long list of things for you to sew for me. Yes that's right! Since I'm apparently "too preggers to stop you" from taking what is rightfully yours, I will thus make a request each week for you to sew in all of your spare time. Ha! Until then...I will continue to stalk super cute blogs and dream of the day that I have the time (and equipment) to pursue my sewing career. So long nursing... I'm gonna be a seamstress!

Sweet Summertime

We'll here's just a glimpse into how we've spent some of our summer...trying to avoid the unbearable heat!!! We took a trip to the beach (which BK LOVED!) unfortunately I had to spend most of the time inside because the heat increased my contractions. Pool-time was my getaway. But nonetheless we loved spending time with Aunt Kate and Drew who made the trip from Georgia to hang out. Brian's family and Aunt Linny also joined us! BK soaked up all that attention and learned some new tricks as well!

Big Sister, Little Brother

Alright, so I know its been forever since I've posted anything on here but I vow to do better. With so many family members in different places we (or I) figured it was the best way to keep in touch with everyone! So in March we found out that we were expecting another baby! Yes, some may call us crazy but we're excited to see what the future holds. They should be about 1 1/2 apart, which I think will be just perfect. The pregnancy was going just fine... the first thing Brian asked the doctor was how many babies do you see? One has been the answer from the start. No morning sickness this time.... I just all around felt different and was hoping this pregnancy would take a different path. We found out around 13 weeks that Briley Kate was going to have a LITTLE BROTHER! We were thrilled!!! From 16 weeks I started going to the doctor every week for a progesterone shot and a cervical length measurement. Since we weren't sure if cervical incompetence, pre-term labor, or multiple gestation was the cause of the twins early delivery (or a combination of all three) our doctor decided to be hypervigilant and stay on top of things. All was well until 23 weeks. I had started having minor sporadic contractions but nothing painful or regular so they had just been monitoring. But 23 week apt revealed some cervical changes and increased contractions. So Bed rest it was. We'll do anything to keep our little man tucked safely inside for many weeks to come but its been much tougher this time with BK running to the bed every 5 mins crying for me to play with her. God will sustain us though... He has provided thus far and we've just about made it to 25 weeks. I'm a true believer in miracles and see one everytime I look at Briley Kate. Please pray for this little guy and our family as we navigate this somewhat familiar territory.

Once a clumber...always a clumber

So for those of you who have ever owned a clumber spaniel you will understand this but if you haven't let me give you a slight glimpse into the life of my first baby. His name is Montana, but he will answer to any number of names (usually Bobby or Wubbie). He has this obsessive need to have something in his mouth at ALL times. At my mom's house there is this little basket that she keeps an old pair of shoes for him to keep in his mouth. When someone comes in the door he immediately runs to that basket and picks up his shoe to greet the visitor. However, today the basket was EMPTY...and got stuck on his head!!! It was so funny. This was so typical of how this dog operates...strange, funny, loving and clumsy. We love you Bobby Wubbie!

Because It Never Snows in Mississippi...

I just thought I should post a few pictures of our day with the snow

Camp Yona

This is a smile that she reserves for her boyfriend (Drew). Seriously...she only smiles like this when she is flirting with him! But I sure do LOVE that smile

Smiling as they played in the car on the way to Atlanta

Here's a quick glimpse of our trip to Greensboro, GA to visit Aunt Kate and Drew! We drove into Atlanta one day to mess around...we were hoping to meet Elizabeth at the aquarium, but the weather just didn't cooperate for us at all! But I was especially thankful to see Drew and Katie's camp!!!! Yes that's right! Katie along with a great group of people are opening a girls camp. A dream job for her (yes I am slightly jealous :), and a job that God could not have designed for a better person. I have watched her passion for kids grow over the past few years, and when this opportunity presented itself she jumped at the offer. I can't begin to describe the feeling you get when you step foot onto the land that will soon be Camp Yona, so I'm gonna let Kate do it for me. Here's her blog as they track their journey into the slightly unknown: www.campyona.blogspot.com

We miss you Aunt Kate! Can't wait to see you for BK's Birfday!!

where have we been?

PS- I know these are old photos but we just put our house on the market and things have ended up in odd places so when I find my photo card i'll update!

Well... sometimes I wonder if anyone really even reads this blog, but on the off chance that people still do here's a little bit about what's been going on in our lives!!  Our sweet pea is almost 10 months old...WHAT!!?  where has the time gone?  In case you haven't gotten to meet her here's a little glimpse into her life and personality.

At 15 pounds and 8 ounces she's a bouncy, flirty little thing!  Her favorite thing to do (besides flirting with my sisters boyfriend!) is to watch the movie happy feet.  As much as I try to keep her away from the tv, let's face it sometimes you just need a break and happy feet is the perfect babysitter!
She sits all my herself and is rolling all around!  We read books almost everyday and enjoy watching our puppies play in the backyard (that is when its not freezing!).  We recently took a trip to see Aunt Kate at her new home outside of Atlanta (quick shout-out to Camp Yona...a wonderful place to discover your inner spirit!) She LOVES all types of baby food, but her favorite is a mixture of spinach, peas and pears.  BK just recently figured out how to stick her tongue out and cough.  She does both and then laughs at herself!  Her strawberry blonde hair is finally coming back in although its more of a mullet style than anything else (business in the front and yes party in the back!)
So to sum it up...she's pretty much the greatest thing that's ever happened to me.  A daddy's girl already and the happiest baby around, our little angel is defying odds and developing right on track.  Hard to imagine that just short of 10 months ago we were staring at a 2 pound baby girl and wondering what the future would hold.  Know one knew just how much she would change our lives for the better.
