Stockings Were Hung by the Chimneys with Glee...

So I know its almost February, but here's a brief glimpse into our Christmas. It was a quite one with a teething toddler and a newborn we really just sat by the fire most of the day. Briley made it quite clear that she rather play with her old toys that day than new ones. Oh well... that's life with a toddler, never know what to expect! We really didn't over do it on the presents. We want to teach our children to be christ centered at Christmas instead of self-centered. We didn't really take many pictures (I regret that now) but I was SOOOO tired. The video camera will have to be our memory...

Child of God

"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders" Isaiah 9: 6

I LOVE christmas time. The smells, the music, the movies, the sights and sounds. It makes my heart skip a beat when october approaches in anticipation for the Christmas season. Usually everyone is home for the holidays and the traditions begin. My sister and I used to sleep in the same bed every Christmas eve and watch Christmas movies until we couldn't keep our eyes open any more. Having children changes things though. It has allowed me to appreciate the season in a much different light. I see the season for what it should be...a celebration of the birth of our saviour. It has always been so easy for me to overlook the real meaning for the Christmas season, but as I look as my children and thank the Lord every night for their lives...it always brings me back to what God gave us. Mary held her son just as I hold mine. God was preparing Him even then to save me. I want my children to appreciate this season not for the presents they get but for the LIFE they will receive because of it.

Most Wonderful Time of the Year

So my camera charger has been lost in the move, so I haven't taken many pictures lately (not that I have time chasing BK around and feeding Colt every 2-3 hours :) Joyful Chaos my mom calls it and indeed it is!! Time is flying by, so hopefully I can get my camera working again and capture some of the sweet moments with my kids before they get to be teenagers (yikes!)

Handsome Man

Adjusting

So big sister Briley has had a little trouble adjusting to life with her baby brother. She is only 19 mo old and the concept that she now has to share time, love, toys and attention with another baby is beyond her capacity to understand. Combine that with the fact that I have been unable to pick her up because of the c-section and she's having some major teething issues has left this poor baby confused and in a tantrum throwing mode on most days. I can only hope that she is able to understand soon that just because she has a new baby brother, our love for her is no less. So I hope you enjoy some pictures of the new big sister!

Welcome Colton!!

Colton made his debut on Nov. 7, 2010 at 8:24 pm. He weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and was 19 1/2 in long. He's been a joy and a delight so far and we can't wait to share some pictures with you; however, we are also in the process of closing on our house and just haven't found the time to get the pictures downloaded but they will come!! Thanks for all the prayers!! We truly know what a miracle it is that he managed to stay put until almost 38 weeks! God you are so GOOD!

Cruisin'

Briley has been cruising the streets the past few months in this sweet ride (haha). We tried to instill patients in our 18 mo old as she circled her daddy waiting for him to finish putting together the "simple" assembly. Once inside she had a blast. She goes on rides regularly with her Ya Ya (my mother) and they collect all sorts of neat stuff like acorns, rocks and leaves. Oh to be little and so fascinated by the simple things in life. Here's to fall and hopefully some cooler weather (although it was almost 90 degrees today).

Pregnancy Update?
Gestational Age: 36 weeks (woop woop)
Estimated Weight: LARGE! for both of us (hahah) He hasn't been weighed since 33 weeks, so we'll see, but i'm betting he's on the rather large size.
Important News: C-section is officially scheduled for Nov. 16 at noon (say a prayer for us) However, I have a feeling when I go off my meds next week we'll be seeing this little guy within 24 hours.
Cravings: Nothing really at this point. I'm so uncomfortable that eating and sleeping have become more of a chore than a pleasure. But that's okay...I"ll trade this any day for a 27 week delivery.
BK's thoughts on the Baby: She thinks that Colton sounds like "cold" so every time we say show us where Colton is she laughs and says "BURRR" Every single time. One day very soon she will learn that her brother is a human and not a piece of ice.
